Project Gutenberg ebooks (catalogue via Gutendex; texts from Project Gutenberg's mirror)

Loaded into a run through the Project Gutenberg connector.

Data source with a connector

About this dataset

Books whose U.S. copyright has expired (about 75,000, most in English; novels, poetry, drama, history, philosophy, science): the catalogue (title, authors and their years, language, subjects, downloads) and the plain text of chosen books for text analysis. Find books with `books`, load texts with `text`.

Use it in a run

The Project Gutenberg connector loads it when a study's question needs it. Each load is recorded with what was read, when, the terms and the citation, and the study's page lists it under "Data used".

Terms of use

The books are not restricted by copyright in the United States; e2er stores the text with Project Gutenberg's licence and all references to Project Gutenberg removed, which leaves "a text unrestricted by U.S. intellectual property law". Check the copyright law of your country.
