What is in it
Boundaries of the EU's statistical regions (NUTS 0 to 3, versions 2003 to 2024) and of countries, as GeoJSON geometries in data.db, to map regional data (Eurostat's NUTS tables) and to build spatial weights. Non-commercial use; maps carry the EuroGeographics notice.
In e2er's words, from the source's definition.
The data stay with the source
The terms of GISCO allow non-commercial use only, with the notice '© EuroGeographics for the administrative boundaries' on every map. A published study does not pass these data on: publishing asks the researcher to confirm the terms, and the study's code loads the data again from the source (get_data.py). A reader who asks the authors for the data is sent to the source.
Terms of use for the data
- Non-commercial use only.
- Every map and publication using the boundaries carries: © EuroGeographics for the administrative boundaries.
- The boundary files are not passed on: a published study loads them again.
