What is in it
Daily, monthly or annual weather and solar parameters for any point on Earth since 1981 (NASA POWER, from the MERRA-2 reanalysis and CERES satellite products): temperature (T2M, T2M_MAX, T2M_MIN), precipitation (PRECTOTCORR), humidity, wind, surface pressure, solar radiation (ALLSKY_SFC_SW_DWN). Good for climate trends, weather controls in panels, agriculture and energy studies; a 2–10 degree region for one parameter. Keyless.
In e2er's words, from the source's definition.
Terms of use for the data
- Free and keyless; POWER states no licence, NASA's Earth science data guidance makes NASA mission data CC0.
- Cite POWER's reference and its data reference (API name, version, access date: recorded with each load).
- POWER asks to be told (larc-power-project@mail.nasa.gov) about publications and when data are passed on.

The terms as e2er records them
No licence stated by POWER; NASA's Earth science data use guidance (https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/engage/open-data-services-software-policies/data-use-guidance): "Unless the content is marked with a use restriction or license, data provided from a NASA-led mission are licensed as Creative Commons Zero (CC0). While there are no restrictions on the use of these data, data users are very strongly urged to cite the data used in their work products." POWER's referencing guide (https://power.larc.nasa.gov/docs/referencing/): "When POWER data products are used in a publication include both POWER's Reference and POWER's Data Reference in any work product or publication" and "the Project requests notification if POWER data is transmitted to other researchers."
