Computed from the records on this site: what each study, template and specialist names as used, which study extends which, and who authored what. 19 studies in total.
What is in it
Health statistics of WHO's 194 member states by year (and sex, age group, residence where WHO breaks them down): life expectancy, mortality by cause, immunization, infectious diseases (HIV, TB, malaria), risk factors (tobacco, alcohol, obesity), health workforce and spending, about 2,000 indicators. Find an indicator with `indicators`, load it with `data`.
In e2er's words, from the source's definition.
The data stay with the source
The terms of the WHO GHO allow use for public health purposes only, and no changes without WHO's written permission. A published study does not pass these data on: publishing asks the researcher to confirm the terms, and the study's code loads the data again from the source (get_data.py). A reader who asks the authors for the data is sent to the source.
Terms of use for the data
- WHO allows use, reproduction and distribution of its datasets for public health purposes.
- Changes beyond matching a publication's style need WHO's prior written authorization.
- The data may not be sold, transferred outside that use, or used to promote a commercial enterprise.
- Attribution: WHO, title of dataset, year, date of access, and the countries that provided the data.
